About Dr Sumithra
I am a Professor of Chemistry with nearly 30 years of teaching and research experience, including 16 years at BITS Hyderabad and academic research experience in Germany. I am passionate about helping students build a strong understanding of Chemistry, particularly Physical Chemistry and advanced problem-solving for IIT JEE, BITSAT, NEET, and SAT examinations. I believe in making challenging concepts simple, strengthening analytical thinking, and creating a supportive learning environment where students gain both confidence and subject mastery.

I am a Professor of Chemistry with nearly 30 years of teaching and research experience, including teaching and research experience at BITS Hyderabad (16 years) and in Germany. My teaching focuses on conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and interactive learning rather than memorization. Classes include concept explanation, examples, numerical practice, and doubt clarification. I teach Physical Chemistry to IIT JEE/BITSAT/NEET/SAT aspirants and to undergraduate and postgraduate learners. I also focus on solving challenging Physical Chemistry problems and developing problem-solving strategies required for the above examinations. I adapt my teaching according to each student's pace and level of understanding. My special focus is on making challenging topics in Physical Chemistry such as Thermodynamics, Spectroscopy, Group Theory, Quantum Chemistry, and numerical problem-solving easier to understand. I encourage students to ask questions freely and aim to create a supportive learning environment that builds confidence along with strong subject knowledge.
