About Poonam
My interest in programming started when I became curious about how software and applications are created from simple lines of code. This led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, where I developed strong knowledge in programming and software development. Over the past 11 years, I have worked with students at different levels, helping them learn coding in a simple and structured way. My experience has helped me understand common challenges and guide students with patience and clarity.
I believe that programming should be taught in a clear and approachable manner. My teaching style focuses on breaking down complex ideas into smaller, understandable parts. I use examples, practice exercises, and real-world applications to help students understand concepts better. I also encourage students to ask questions and explore different solutions, which helps them build confidence and independent thinking skills.
Outside teaching, I enjoy learning new programming languages and exploring modern technologies. This helps me keep my knowledge updated and bring fresh ideas into my lessons. Teaching programming is rewarding because I see students grow from beginners into confident coders. Helping them develop strong logical thinking and practical skills is something I truly enjoy and value deeply.

In my lessons, I focus on building a strong foundation in concepts such as variables, loops, conditions, and functions using simple and clear explanations. I guide students step by step so they can understand how code works rather than just memorising it. I use practical examples and small exercises to show how programming is applied in real situations. Each session is designed to be calm and interactive, allowing students to ask questions freely and learn without pressure. This helps them build confidence gradually and stay motivated throughout the learning process.
As students improve, lessons move into more advanced areas such as structured programming, debugging, and problem solving. Beginners start with simple programmes and guided practice. Intermediate learners focus on writing organised code and understanding logic more deeply. Advanced learners work on algorithms, project building, and improving efficiency. I include regular exercises, feedback, and revision to help students strengthen their understanding and avoid common mistakes. This structured approach ensures steady growth and confidence in coding skills.
Programming also helps students develop patience, creativity, and analytical thinking. As they progress, they begin to approach problems in a structured way and think more clearly. They learn to break down complex problems into smaller steps and build solutions independently. My goal is to help students feel confident in their coding abilities and develop skills that are useful for their future learning and career growth.
