About Harlow
My fascination with programming started when I realised that small sequences of instructions could create powerful, real-world applications. This led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, and over the past 8 years, I have taught learners from beginners to advanced coders. My approach emphasises patience, clarity, and hands-on practice, ensuring every student builds both confidence and skill as they progress.
I focus on fostering logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and creative exploration. Lessons are designed to break down complex concepts into digestible steps, reinforced through examples, exercises, and interactive feedback. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, and learning from them while gradually building mastery.
Outside of teaching, I continue to explore emerging programming languages, technologies, and real-world projects, integrating these insights into lessons. Teaching programming is deeply rewarding because I witness learners evolve from uncertainty to independence, gaining technical expertise and self-assurance. Supporting their growth, problem-solving skills, and curiosity remains the most fulfilling part of my work.

Programming becomes approachable and exciting when students can see the purpose behind each line of code and understand the logic driving solutions. My lessons cover fundamentals such as variables, loops, conditional statements, functions, object-oriented programming, and data structures. I emphasise clarity, using practical examples, step-by-step explanations, and exercises that gradually increase in complexity. Students develop problem-solving confidence while learning how their code can solve meaningful challenges and create real-world applications.
Each lesson is carefully tailored to the student’s current level. Beginners focus on understanding basic programming logic, small projects, and exercises that reinforce comprehension. Intermediate students dive into modular programming, debugging, and algorithmic thinking. Advanced learners explore optimisation, complex projects, and interview preparation. Every session integrates interactive exercises, problem-solving discussions, and constructive feedback to ensure learners develop strong technical skills and independent coding confidence.
Programming lessons also foster critical thinking, structured reasoning, and creativity that extend beyond coding itself. Students gain independence, analytical skills, and excitement as they see their ideas come to life through code. My goal is to make programming engaging, accessible, and rewarding, helping learners grow into confident, capable programmers who can tackle challenges both academically and in real-world projects.
