About Hari
I believe that everyone can succeed in Maths and Science with the right guidance. My lessons are clear, methodical, and interactive. I don’t just teach students how to get the right answer—I help them understand why it’s right. I use a mix of explanations, visual aids, exam-style questions, and active recall techniques to reinforce learning. I also adapt my teaching to suit each student's learning style, be it step-by-step breakdowns, real-world examples, or plenty of practice.

I focus on building a deep understanding of core concepts before moving on to more complex applications. My teaching is interactive and student-led—I ask guiding questions to encourage critical thinking rather than simply providing answers. I also use real-world examples and visual aids to make abstract ideas more accessible and engaging. For Maths, I prioritise methodical problem-solving strategies and breaking down questions into manageable steps. In Science, I emphasise understanding over memorisation, helping students grasp how ideas connect across topics and apply to practical scenarios, since what separates a good student from a great one is their ability to apply understood concepts to a question. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student’s learning style and pace. I regularly assess progress through short quizzes, past paper questions, and spaced repetition to ensure knowledge is retained in the long-term. My lessons are usually 60 minutes long, though if there are any special requests for longer or shorter lessons based on a student's situation, I would be happy to do such lessons. My lessons are usually for children in Year 5 to prepare for the 11+ examination, and for those in Year 9, 10 and 11 to prepare for the GCSEs. However, I would be happy to take lessons for children in early secondary school as well. For the 11+ examination, I am able to tutor for all the boards and relevant subjects (Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning). For the GCSE, though I am more familiar with Edexcel Maths, and AQA Sciences, I will still be able to provide lessons for other exam boards for these subjects.
