About Yumna
As a Psychology graduate and current MSc Counselling student, I combine strong academic knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills. I work in particular with anxious students, who might have diffixulties eith concebtrating or understabding their work. I have studied English Language and Literature at A Level and have experience teaching Primary and GCSE English online, alongside working as a Teaching Assistant with students aged 6–18.
Patient and reliable, I provide personalised, well-prepared lessons, clear communication, and regular feedback to help students build confidence and achieve their English goals.
My aim is to create a professional, encouraging space where every student feels capable, motivated, and supported in achieving their English goals.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and supportive. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their individual needs, pace, and confidence level. I focus on building a strong foundation in English skills while also developing critical thinking, comprehension, and exam technique where appropriate.
I use a clear, step-by-step teaching method that combines explanation, modelling, guided practice, and independent tasks.
For Primary students, I incorporate interactive activities, reading exercises, spelling and grammar practice, and creative writing tasks to keep lessons engaging.
For GCSE students, I focus on text analysis, essay structure, exam technique, and past paper practice to build confidence and improve grades. I regularly assess progress and provide constructive feedback to help students understand how to improve.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are suitable for Primary school students who need support with reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension, as well as GCSE students who want to improve their grades, exam skills, and essay writing. I work with learners aged 6–18 and tailor each lesson to their ability and academic goals.
