About Dom
Hi there! I’m Dominique D’Silva, a mathematics and science tutor with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honors I) and minor in Neuroscience from the University of Sydney (Dalyell Scholar, 2024). I graduated from Hornsby Girls High School (NSW) with an ATAR of 98.70, achieving Band 6s in Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Biology, Music 2 and Music Extension.
I began tutoring in 2021, moving from tutoring colleges to private tutoring. During this time, I have worked with a wide range of students and have noticed that their learning needs cannot always be met by the one-size-fits-all approach of traditional schooling and some tutoring colleges. As a tutor, I have made it my mission to personalize lessons to each student’s learning style, goals and gaps.

Hi there! I’m Dominique D’Silva, a mathematics and science tutor with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honors I) and minor in Neuroscience from the University of Sydney (Dalyell Scholar, 2024). I graduated from Hornsby Girls High School (NSW) with an ATAR of 98.70, achieving Band 6s in Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Biology, Music 2 and Music Extension.
I use assessment-informed plans and a concepts-first approach so students build transferable understanding rather than relying on memorization. During our first lesson, I will get to know a student’s strengths, weaknesses, study habits and specific goals to set a clear plan. In each lesson (typically 1 hour), we work on homework questions, targeted teaching of concepts, develop problem-solving strategies, practice questions to consolidate topics, exam-style questions and in-class practice quizzes if needed.
I welcome students of any age and prioritize tailoring lessons to their needs.
