About Ria

My personal approach to tutoring is student-led. I believe that teaching/learning should be a collaboration. I am open to adapting to the needs of the student and I am great at identifying what areas need developing. I also believe in teaching to the top. High ambitions for all attainment levels is what leads to success. Additionally, I am well-versed in how cognitive science is involved in learning and consistently use my psychology background in my teaching practice to avoid overloading students.

Ria is my friend and she tutored me for sociology and psychology for my A level exams. She was excellent at tailoring her tutoring to my specific needs by identifying the areas I needed the most help with in terms of subject knowledge and content, as well as helping to hugely improve my writing structure for long essay-style questions. I strongly recommend Ria as a tutor to others as her passion for social sciences is so evident, which really helps develop your understanding of the subjects as she is very articulate, and brilliant at explaining theories and their applications to the real-world.
