My Approach as a Tutor
My goal is to make psychology easier to understand, remember, and apply. I believe students learn best when lessons are personalized to their learning style instead of relying solely on memorization. I use clear explanations, real-life examples, practice questions, discussions, and step-by-step breakdowns of difficult concepts. I also encourage students to ask questions and explain concepts in their own words so we can make sure they truly understand the material.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Each lesson begins with a quick review of what the student already knows and what they are currently struggling with. From there, we will focus on the specific topic or assignment that needs attention. I break complicated psychological theories and terminology into smaller, easier-to-understand pieces and connect them to everyday situations whenever possible. We then work through examples or practice questions together before ending with a short review of the main concepts and anything the student should continue practicing.
What Sets Me Apart
As a social work student, I have a strong interest in human behavior, development, mental health, and the ways psychological concepts connect to everyday life. I bring a patient, encouraging, and judgment-free approach to tutoring. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I focus on helping them understand why an answer is correct and develop skills they can use independently.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed primarily for high school and college students taking introductory psychology or related courses. I can help with topics such as developmental psychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, personality, learning and behavior, research concepts, psychological terminology, studying for exams, understanding assignments, and organizing written work. I also welcome students who need concepts explained at a slower pace or in a different way than they received them in class.
