About Fatima
I come with a solid background in the English medium and an A-Level education from Cambridge, and I have a strong educational background from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. My academic interests are in critical thinking, education, literature, philosophy, and the development of clear and analytical understanding which all have a strong influence in the way I teach.
As an ex-Cambridge student, I feel the stress and strain that students experience when balancing conceptual understanding with exam performance. That is the reason I try to prepare lessons that are intellectually stimulating and have applications to exams.
In addition to academics, I am very interested in learning and building confidence in my own thinking and the thinking skills of others. I have a particular passion for teaching subjects that require analysis, interpretation, discussion and structured writing.
As a tutor, my aim is to help students to excel in their studies as well as to be more thoughtful, articulate and independent learners.

My conceptual approach to teaching, analytical thinking, and ability to communicate clearly is of paramount importance. I have experience studying under the Cambridge system and realise the problems learners experience when they need to remember and critically think and apply ideas well in subjects like this.
My teaching methods are planned but flexible in the light of the learner's personal learning style and objectives. My goal is to impart to my students a greater knowledge of their subjects, better problem-solving skills, better writing skills, and the confidence to face exams.
I also try to make lessons interesting, discussion-based and challenging and not just memorizing. In addition to teaching concepts, I also help students develop clear and coherent ways to express their understanding both orally and in writing, as well as during exams.
