About Jess
Since 2014 I’ve worked with many clients doing portraiture, had landscape photography published, and personally work with subjective documentary photography :) After covid hit I had no choice but to leave art university, yet I kept refining my craft and have since expanded my artistic skills to freelance illustration and design. I am currently backpacking in Aotearoa and hoping to use my unique perspective on photojournalism and documentation to teach and create whilst i travel. A lot of my personal woexists in an experimental space often mixing medias or exploring alternate processes. I’d be happy to teach you collating in photoshop, cyanotype, or historical photography methods (diy pinhole cameras and photograms).

My number one talent is being able to judge exposures without a light meter, i’ll teach you all the elements to make a stellar photograph from composition to exposure. From there I can teach you how to edit your work in lightroom, photoshop, or Adobe RAW (as well as import etiquette and organization). We’ll go over the basics in adjusting exposure and also get into colour mixing and grading. More detailed sessions will reveal secrets for using photoshops tools to enhance your image, remove unwanted distractions, or create collages. I am also happy to help with studio lighting basics and some lessons in the history of photography.
