I approach essay writing as I would in building a house. We don’t start the essay writing until we’ve poured a solid concrete foundation. And from there, we then build a strong, resilient structure. Once we’ve drafted a robust thesis and organized the student’s ideas in outline form, we proceed to research and then systematically write the first draft.
(And naturally, after submission, we await the inevitable “A.”)
