I have a strong passion for helping students build confidence and succeed academically. My teaching is grounded in a research-informed “Teach–Check–Practice” approach. Each lesson begins with clear instruction of key concepts, followed by targeted questioning and formative assessment to gauge understanding, and concludes with structured application through exam-style questions or problem-solving.
Lessons are tailored to the individual student’s needs, strengths, and goals. I ensure methods are effective, engaging, and aligned with how students learn best. Emphasis is placed on building deep conceptual understanding alongside exam technique and confidence.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, allowing sufficient time for explanation, guided practice, and independent application. Longer sessions can be arranged for intensive revision or exam preparation.
Qualifications & Experience:
I hold a forensic science and forensic medicine with honours degree (BSc), Chemistry PGCE from the University of Cambridge and a master's in education (MEd) from the University of Cambridge.
Experience teaching Chemistry, Biology and Physics up to GCSE, level 3 applied science, AS chemistry and Maths up to GCSE. I have a strong track record of helping students achieve top grades through structured, evidence-based teaching and personalised support.
Lessons are suitable for students aged KS3, GCSE, A-level, IB and BTEC. I work with a range of learners, from those seeking to build confidence and foundational understanding to high-achieving students aiming for top exam results.
