About Richard
I am from Pontypridd, south Wales in the UK. I have been teaching Business Studies for over 20 years and therefore have a huge amount of experience and knowledge in how to teach effectively. I really enjoy helping students to improve their grades and reach their academic goals. I find a great sense of achievement when students develop their skills and gain the grade they want on results day! During my teaching career I have always got on really well with my students and they therefore feel relaxed in my company and confident to ask questions if they need help.

My lessons are aimed at students of GCSE and A Level Business Studies. I am a UK qualified teacher holding a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education) and also a bachelors degree in Business Studies. I have more than 20 years experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Business Studies in countries such as the UK, China and the United Arab Emirates. I therefore have an excellent understanding of how to teach native and non-native English speakers. My teaching style is interactive (not lecture style) which means I give lots of fun and interesting activities to help you understand and learn about Business Studies. I particularly enjoy using examples from the real World of Business as this makes it easier to understand and more interesting than if you only learn theory. I also use handouts and powerpoints with lots of questions which would we would work through together. This encourages you to think and use your mind which is really impotant if you want to understand how Business works and also be successful on Business A Level and IGCSE exams. In terms of my personality, I am friendly, patient and easy to get along with. Regarding lesson length I can offer shorter lessons eg. 40 minutes or longer lessons eg. 1 hour to suit your individual needs.
