About Madi
I have been teaching martial arts and music for a good part of high school and will be moving on to study cello performance in conservatory. I plan each lesson before I teach to ensure specialized and effective FUN learning. I have extensive classical music training through competitive orchestras and studying at a fine arts academy for the last 7 years. I’ve been fortunate enough to have performed at notable events and venues in my area and have won selective competitions. Even though I’m young for a teacher, I have a niche for new and old teaching techniques that work for individual students with my modern perspective with plenty of experience. I have worked with students of all ages with beginner to intermediate levels.

Most teachers will often focus on just technique and learning pieces, especially of the baroque era in the beginning of learning an instrument- which can be repetitive and become a chore. I focus on more than technique including: music theory, learning about composers and performers from various cultures and classical time periods, discovering new pieces every week and discovering the fun parts about classical music and effective ways to learn cello (much influence from Rostropovich’s teaching style).
