About Christiaan
I am a B.Sc. Chemistry and Polymer Science graduate from the University of Stellenbosch with over 5 years teaching experience in IEB Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics for learners from Grade 8-12. I also have over two years experience in the Cambridge Curriculum AP Chemistry/ Physics stream and international teaching experience at a leading Cambridge school. I have also completed a PGCE, hold a SACE and a TESOL/TEFL certificate and have an IELTS level of 9.0.

My teaching methodology is practicality and simplicity. Those who understand a subject must be able to explain it in such a way, using relevant examples, that anyone is able to comprehend it. I do not believe in rote learning and feel that when the principles of any subject or topic is taught effectively, then the student will be able to apply it to any situation in that field. The need for students to be engaged and actively questioning (i.e being passionately curious) about schooling and the world around them will be key in developing their intrinsic motivation and love of science/maths.
