About Ana María
¡Hola! I am a native qualified Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language (certificate accredited by Instituto Cervantes), trained and specialized in GCSE in UK (US 10th grade) by King's College London, Bachelor degree in Law and Master degree in International Business (University of Alicante, Spain). Teaching my native language and culture is my passion. I'm enthusiastic, friendly and engaging. Speaking from my own experience, I know how the learning process works as a teacher, but also from a student's point of view. As a result, I am able to understand your needs and help you more effectively. I can say that learning other languages is very interesting, necessary and above all, must be fun! I have many years of experience, helping students in the UK to prepare for their final exams and get the extra mark they need, tutoring secondary school students and adults of all levels. Ana Maria is always punctual and prepared. Our 14 yr old daughter is learning Spanish with her and has warmed to her very quickly. Ana Maria is a very genuine, kind, warm person who loves to teach. Ana Maria creates personalized lessons based on the student's interests and this has been wonderful for our teenage music-loving daughter. Together they translate Spanish pop songs as well as focusing on verbs and tenses! Ana Maria is always smiling and gently coaxes the best from her student. It took a while to find Ana Maria.. and we intend to hang on to her!
Ana Maria taught our daughter IGCSE Spanish for two years (2 hrs per week during term time). She is a fantastic tutor and taught our daughter to a level that far exceeded what she would have achieved in a classroom setting. Ana Maria always made the lesson fun (always hearing laughter during the lessons) and interesting. We cannot recommend Ana Maria highly enough and wish her all the best for the future.
