About Tammy
I am a fully accredited NESA Proficient Teacher with extensive experience teaching English in NSW secondary schools. I hold a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) / Bachelor of Arts, specializing in English and HSIE, and have taught students across Years K–12, including senior English.
I understand that students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported and confident enough to ask questions and make mistakes. I create a calm, encouraging learning environment where students can work at their own pace while still being challenged to improve.
Literacy is a particular passion of mine. I enjoy helping students who feel overwhelmed by English discover that reading, writing and essay skills can be broken down into clear, achievable steps. I also enjoy working with capable students who want to extend their skills and achieve stronger results.
As an experienced classroom teacher, I understand the NSW curriculum, assessment requirements and the expectations students face at school. I provide structured, purposeful lessons tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they need help catching up, completing assessments, improving essay writing or preparing for senior English and the HSC.
Most importantly, I want students to leave tutoring feeling more capable and confident than when they arrived.

I am a qualified, NESA-accredited teacher with extensive experience teaching English across Years 7–12, as well as supporting middle-school students with literacy, reading and writing.
My tutoring is personalized to each student's ability, learning needs and goals. I use explicit, evidence-informed teaching, breaking difficult skills into manageable steps and using modeling, worked examples, scaffolding and guided practice. I focus on building confidence as well as improving academic results.
I can support students with reading comprehension, paragraph and essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, creative writing, assessment tasks, exam preparation and senior English. For HSC students, I can provide targeted support with textual analysis, essay structure, responding to questions and developing stronger written responses.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student's age and needs.
I hold a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) / Bachelor of Arts in English and HSIE and have extensive experience teaching in NSW secondary schools across Years 7–12, including senior English. I am a fully accredited NESA Proficient Teacher and have experience supporting students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
My tutoring is suitable for Years 6–12 students, from students who need additional literacy support or greater confidence through to senior students wanting to strengthen their English results and prepare for the HSC.
