About Jonny
I spend half my week teaching maths and science in an alternative educational provision and the other half researching how neurodivergent students learn chemistry. Sometimes I also get to play songs about science and have appeared at the Royal Institution the Large Hadron Collider and on Britain's Got Talent with them.

I have over 20 years experience telling people about maths and science. Much of that has been 1:1 tutoring, some has been as a classroom physics teacher, and quite a lot has been as a singer of science songs. I have a BA in the History and Philosophy of Science, an MA in Science Education and am currently completing a PhD in it too, specialising on neurodivergent learners.
As a teacher I am able to draw on this experience and training to create clear, relaxed, interesting lessons and I can adapt my teaching to the particular needs of each learner.
I teach biology up to GCSE, chemistry and maths up to AS level and Physics up to A level. I am familiar with all exam boards and can teach Functional Skills maths as well.
I specialise in teaching students with special educational or emotional needs but I like working with all kinds of students. I am also an expert on teaching science through song.
Lessons are usually an hour.
