With experience tutoring Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils, my aim is not only to prepare students for assessments but also to help them apply their skills confidently across all areas of learning. As a qualified teacher, I foster a love of learning and reading through engaging, enthusiastic teaching. I am a supportive and motivating tutor who is committed to helping pupils develop strong academic skills, confidence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
What a typical 1-hour 1:1 Maths or English lesson looks like:
Assess the pupil’s current understanding of the topic.
Introduce and clearly explain the concept, using worked examples to model success.
Guide the pupil through practice questions, encouraging them to explain their thinking and reasoning.
Provide independent tasks with ongoing support and constructive feedback.
Review completed work together, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
Finish with a reasoning or challenge question to deepen understanding.
Begin the next session with a short recap quiz to check retention before introducing new learning.
Adapt lessons and provide targeted revision where needed to strengthen understanding and address any gaps in knowledge.
My lessons are tailored to each pupil’s individual needs, ensuring they feel supported, challenged, and confident in their progress.
