About John
I have been an examiner in physics and English, Teacher in Charge of Physics, and I have tutored science, maths and English for 15 years.
I make extensive use of past exam questions because the best way to do well in exams is to practise doing exams! This also allows realistic monitoring of performance as tutoring continues. I normally email exam questions for students to attempt before the tutoring session. Students should also have time to explore their own interests in the subject by asking questions of their own. This is an important part of reflective learning and will help build and maintain enthusiasm.

I specialize in online teaching methods (including training other teachers). This means using some light tools such as online whiteboards for shared brainstorming, but primarily focusing on a teaching interaction that closely resembles in-person teaching.
