About Alex
I’ve been a qualified teacher in England for three years and have also taught English as a foreign language in Peru and China. I’m a Mandarin learner myself and a drummer, so I know what it’s like to learn something new from scratch. I teach using comprehensible input, immersion, and natural conversation, helping students learn vocabulary and grammar in context. I track key words during lessons and review them at the end to reinforce learning. A typical lesson might involve a conversation based on an image or reading exercise, exploring grammar and vocabulary as they come up, and then discussing the topic more broadly. I have experience teaching all levels and ages, from primary school students in England to English learners in China. My lessons are adaptable to each student’s needs.
