About Daniel
I have a degree in Information and Communication Technology. In addition, I have a PGCE Secondary in IT and Computing, which is a teacher training qualification. I have taught a range of topics in IT and Computer Science up to GCSE and A Level. In my studies, I have come to the realisation that Maths is important even in Computer Science. These are the topics I have studied that I know I can do: Arithmetic Prime Numbers Ratio Percentages Symmetry 2D and 3D Shapes Perimeter and Area of Shapes Volume of Shapes Rounding Angles Transformation Enlargement Bearings Handling Data Mean, Median, Mode and Range Frequency and Grouped Frequency Tables and others. I approach each topic according to the immediate and long-range needs of the student, whether they require help in comprehending their topic, in preparing for exams, or in planning, executing, and proofing written work in-line with their syllabus requirements. I tend to produce a PowerPoint resource for each pupil around what they want to learn, which they can refer to for their revision. I have learnt that there is no effective one-size-fits-all approach to pedagogy. I have a GCSE in Maths. Although I never used to be a fan of Maths I started to look at Maths in a completely different way when I started to upskill with the mathematical content for A Level Computer Science.
