Lessons obviously vary by need but for typical writing projects if we are starting from scratch I prefer to go with a constructive approach where we build upon "sketch-like" beginnings and evolve them into a full essay or paper. If the project is already in some state of completion I work with students to make sure that their ideas are thoroughly explained, clear, and well organized. I much prefer a collaborative approach and will always engage students in meaningful dialogue about their work and ideas I may have to improve it.
