About Lal
I am a seasoned Business English teacher, and a cultural behavior consultant with experience in diverse professional contexts, business plan development, working with government agencies, school accreditation and admissions, business reporting, health tourism, and many other areas, using many different methods of communication such as email, cell phone, virtual and real face-to-face communication. I am also a CELTA certified English teacher with extensive experience in creating new curricula to meet the needs of my students, as evidenced by my Business English and Cultural Diversity courses. While my degree in Business Administration and my CELTA certification attest to my adroitness in business communication and teaching, I believe my experience in education and business practice gives me an edge that would be difficult to find elsewhere. Having lived and worked in multinational environments, I have led culturally diverse teams in 6 different countries on 3 different continents. I have also successfully built business relationships in 19 countries. These experiences have given me a profound understanding of both the diverse, cosmopolitan nature of the English language and cultural sensitivity in general, allowing me to navigate the often dangerous waters of cross-cultural communication with the utmost confidence. It is this important quality that I wish to pass on to all my collaborators. Therefore, my professional services include not only the language aspect, but also techniques and ways of thinking that facilitate effective intercultural communication. My diverse background, a rare combination of executive-level business experience and ESP teaching experience, has enabled me to develop my unique teaching style. My goal is to empower all those who attend my courses or workshops to develop the cultural sensitivity and awareness necessary to not only work and communicate in diverse environments, but also to build meaningful relationships with people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and to overcome cross-cultural challenges.
