About Jason
I've been teaching for over 20 years, including teaching virtually for a year and a half during COVID and have plenty of experience both connecting with my students in person or online.
I've found that many students who don't like math find it more accessible when it's taught through humor and real world examples. I like to provide both, because learning something you don't like is always easier when it's entertaining and relevant to your life and needs.

Math doesn't have to be the subject your child dreads. As a licensed teacher with 20+ years of classroom experience, I've helped hundreds of students go from frustrated and disengaged to genuinely confident in math. I know that the difference usually isn't ability. It's finding the right approach.
Middle school is where math gets abstract for the first time. Suddenly it's not just numbers but it's ratios, proportional relationships, negative numbers, and before long, algebraic expressions and linear equations.
I can break down these complicated math processes into easy to understand steps with simple explanations.
I specialize in grades 6–9, covering everything from 6th grade fractions and geometry through 7th grade equations and inequalities, all the way into 8th grade linear functions, systems of equations, and the Pythagorean theorem. I also work with high school students tackling Algebra I and II.
My style is patient, clear, and, I've been told, occasionally funny. I believe every student can succeed in math when it's explained in a way that actually makes sense to them. Let's find that way together.

Jason was my 8th grade math teacher and the biggest thing I remember was how I was never scared to ask for help. He always checked after everything he explained to make sure you were keeping up and if you weren’t, he would gladly walk you through it again. He was a very friendly and good teacher and I would recommend him to all.
