About Gavin
I am a Doctoral Candidate in Hispanic Linguistics at Florida State University. I have lived in Perú and Spain, and I am a highly proficient speaker of Spanish. I have been teaching at the university level for 5+ years and have also worked with a number of government agents learning Spanish.

In my Spanish classes, I strive to create an immersive and engaging environment where students can actively participate in their language-learning journey. Drawing upon the latest research in second language acquisition, I design interactive activities that encourage students to use Spanish exclusively throughout the class.
By focusing on speaking and engagement in Spanish, I provide ample opportunities for students to practice their language skills in authentic contexts. This not only enhances fluency but also builds confidence in using the language spontaneously!
Furthermore, as a non-native speaker of Spanish, I can provide a lot of insights into the process the English speakers face when trying to learn Spanish.
