About the lesson

Never abrasive and often understanding, I try to make sure my students feel as though they can work through their confusions with me. By giving students the space to think through the problems on their own and then going through what they did wrong (and right!) it will help to build their confidence in the subject.
A typical lesson plan might ask the student to make a pass at the work (practice problems, homework, or test prep, reading the lesson) before we meet. When we do meet, we'll go over what they did—by asking the student to think critically about where they got confused or stuck, will give me better insight on what needs to be better explained. After explaining through either analogies or other examples that I do for them (asking them to do the parts they do understand), we would then continue to do practice problems until they feel confident in their work. At this point the student should be able to complete their homework on their own or feel prepared for an upcoming exam.
Whether it is helping my younger brother and cousins with their homework to teaching a class of computer science undergraduates, I have been able to empathize with and understand the position of those that I'm teaching. Being 22 myself and having graduated college in May, I am still very familiar with school.
My lessons best suit middle schoolers and high schoolers that need help or reinforcement in Pre Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and Calculus!
