About Scott
I am 17 years old and I am about to commence an undergraduate degree in English at the University of Edinburgh.
As someone who has struggled with English in the past, I am passionate about teaching as I want to make the subject more accessible to all and prove that the skills required for English are not innate, but can rather be developed with the right training.
I want to teach life skills such as confidence and critical thinking in conjunction with the standard reading and writing skills required for this subject.
I am here to bridge the gap between learners and a subject where there isn't always a clear-cut path to achieve a certain grade.
I wish to instil the idea of never underestimating the power of self-esteem in mastering an ambiguous subject like English.

Students often complain that English is subjective in terms of marking and this is absolutely right.
However, fret not, as I can break it down and provide you with the tools and skills you need in order to take the approach best suited to your needs when it comes to achieving your personal goals.
I am highly familiar with the Scottish marking system so please reach out if you are based in Scotland.
I provide lessons between 1-2 hours for students who require tutoring for all levels (National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher) and I take the approach of learner-centred and interactive teaching!
