About Aleena
Hi! My name is Aleena, and I am a recent Biomedical Sciences graduate from the University of Guelph with a strong passion for teaching and helping students build confidence in their abilities. Throughout both high school and university, I maintained a 90%+ average while balancing academics, research, extracurricular involvement, and leadership experiences.
I have several years of experience working with children through both tutoring and teaching swimming lessons. I began tutoring students during high school and have over 4 years of experience teaching swimming lessons to children of different ages and skill levels, including children with disabilities. These experiences helped me develop patience, adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment tailored to each student’s individual needs.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I focus on making lessons engaging, personalized, and stress-free. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them gain confidence, build strong study habits, and feel proud of their progress. Whether a student needs support with homework, exam preparation, science, math, or general academic skills, I am committed to helping them succeed while making learning a positive experience.

I take a patient, encouraging, and personalized approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the student’s learning style and academic needs. I understand how to break down challenging concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps.
A typical lesson includes reviewing previous material, explaining new concepts, practicing questions together, and ending with independent problem-solving to build confidence. I also help students with homework support, study strategies, organization, and exam preparation.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students in a supportive and motivating way while making learning less stressful and more enjoyable. My lessons are for students in Grades 1–10, especially those looking for help in science, math, general homework support, and test preparation.
