About Jayla
I’ve been tutoring for the past 10 years throughout my schooling experience and while I am young I am also extremely professional. It wasn’t too long ago that I was a student so the subject matter is very fresh in my mind, and I remember very clearly the things my teachers did that I loved and that I hated, so I incorporate that experience as much as I can into my sessions.

Hello!
My name is Jayla, I’m a recent graduate from the University of Southern California. I studied business and Spanish, and studied abroad in Spain last semester where I tutored kids in English. I started tutoring kids younger than me ever since I was in 6th grade. Throughout college I would volunteer with schools in South Central to work as a teaching assistant or working 1-1 with struggling students.
My favorite subjects have always been Spanish, Math and English but I am also pretty good at Science.
I am super friendly and love finding creative solutions to help students however they are struggling. I really think tutoring should be somewhat fun and not something that kids dread so I like to make my sessions as fun and interactive as possible whether it’s virtual or in person.

Perfect! Jayla is a super kind, energetic and knowledgeable Spanish tutor. We’ve had one 2 hour lesson so far for my near 7 year old who is a Spanish immersion program and needs help with reading. Jayla so knew when to take breaks and interspersed games and mini dance party breaks and make it fun! She is awesome!
