About Nel
As a recent graduate of English Literature at a Russel Group University, I am constantly surrounded by a multitude of texts and am always discovering endless ways of interpreting them.
I want to pass on this love of English Literature to my students because it is a subject often overlooked in its importance in how we decipher and comprehend our world.
I am studying my PGCE qualification to become a primary school teacher and will be a fully qualified teacher with QTS by the end of the year.
I am DBS checked.

My focus as a tutor would be to benefit my student in every way possible, so I can be flexible in terms of lengths and formats of lessons.
I believe that the easiest way to excel in English Literature is by finding a way to immerse yourself in the writing, whether that's a novel, play, poem or non-fiction piece. My aim is to help my student find this way to really connect, instead of just teaching tricks for memorising quotes.
Since I have taken my GCSEs and A level within the last five years I am familiar with the current exam formats and mark schemes so I can understand exactly what points my students are coming from. As I am studying to be a primary school teacher I know the National Curriculum and how children need to learn to excel at school.
I am comfortable teaching any age of student from 5-18.
