About Summer
I am a Primary School Teacher with a strong interest in supporting learners and fostering their independence. My personal passions include music, art, dance, musical theatre, and English literature. I have trained extensively in the Arts throughout my life — including piano, singing, dance, and various instruments — and went on to study Music at university. I also have a deep love of reading fiction and pursued English Literature as part of my university studies.

I am a registered Primary School Teacher who teaches Reading, Writing, Structured Literacy, Maths, and The Arts. I tutor Primary level students in these subjects. My specialties are English and Music up to university level, as I studied and trained in both subjects. I am able to tutor up to NZCEA level in English, Music, and Dance.
I aim to learn about the student’s needs and requirements/objectives as a learner to support them to meet their goals. I have strong knowledge of the current Primary level curriculums, and am able to support the student to meet expectations for their year level, or complete assignments and prepare for testing.
Tutoring sessions can be anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the age and needs of the learner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music and English
- Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching
- Grade 8 Classical Piano
- Performance Diploma in Classical Piano
- Grade 8 Tap Dancing
