About Emelia
I am a friendly, reliable and patient A Level student who enjoys helping younger students feel more confident in maths. I understand that maths can sometimes feel confusing or stressful, so I try to explain things clearly and in a way that feels manageable.
I am organised, punctual and committed to helping students improve at their own pace. Through childcare, volunteering and mentoring, I have gained experience working with younger students and creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, patient and focused on building confidence. I know that maths can feel stressful when a topic does not click straight away, so I aim to explain ideas clearly and break questions down into simple steps. I like to start by finding out what the student already understands, then work through examples together before letting them try similar questions independently.
In my lessons, I focus on understanding the method rather than just memorising answers. I use worked examples, exam-style questions and regular checking to make sure the student is comfortable before moving on. I also encourage students to ask questions, even if they feel unsure, because this is often the best way to improve.
A typical lesson would last one hour, although this can be adapted depending on the student’s needs. Lessons can focus on homework support, revising difficult topics, improving confidence, or preparing for tests and exams.
I am currently studying A Level Mathematics, alongside Economics, Computer Science and EPQ. I achieved strong GCSE results, including an A* equivalent in GCSE Maths, and I have experience working with younger children through childcare, volunteering and mentoring. This has helped me develop patience, communication skills and the ability to explain things clearly.
My lessons are best suited for primary school students, KS3 students and GCSE Maths students who want extra support, clearer explanations or help building confidence in maths.
