About Gary
I went to grad school in chemistry and wrote a masters thesis in Organic chemistry and a PhD dissertation in Inorganic chemistry because I believed that crossing fields of chemistry is an advantage in the workplace. I wanted to teach at a small college but when I finished by PhD enrollment in small colleges was falling and there were few teaching positions available. Now that my working career is over I want to return to teaching by being a tutor.

I have been told I explain things very well. I teach how to approach and solve problems. I also like to stretch students using their existing knowledge to get to a new understanding of chemistry concepts. I am particularly interested in turning students taking general or first year chemistry in high school and college.
