About William
I am a retired Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer who was a Law Enforcement Specialist for 21 years. However, 11 of those 21 years were also spent in the Air Education and Training Command as an Instructor, finishing my career with the coveted award of Master Instructor. In the Air Force, I taught a database management class, Law Enforcement Apprentice Course at Lackland AFB, and I was on the team that developed the first ever computer-based training course for the Air Force, Security Forces Apprentice Distance Learning Course. After retiring from the Air Force, I became an English Language Arts and Reading teacher for Southwest High School, teaching everything from 9th-12th grade. My specialty was teaching the senior retest students for 10 years. These were students who had not passed the state assessment for English in order to meet graduation requirements. My success rate was 98.6 percent. I was also the Head Girls Basketball Coach for 14 years, amassing over 400 career wins in my 19 total years as a basketball coach. Later, I moved into Administration, serving as the English Language Arts and Reading Coordinator for the district for three years and finishing my career as a High School Assistant Principal for four years. I am retiring at the end of this school year.

If you hate reading and writing, my guess is you never had a teacher who engaged you in literature and writing experiences that interested you. While I love the cannons, I understand students want to read about things that interest them and write about things they care about the most. This is my niche: I will find a way for you to learn, grow, and fall in love with the written word by tapping into what it is you like to do. Take my class. You will not regret it.
