About John
I was a teacher in a secondary school for many years and enjoyed encouraging and supporting my students to achieve their best outcomes as well as supporting the teaching of fellow staff. The exam results in my area of expertise were always pleasing and many students achieved the highest grades and went on to their chosen university or college. I liked to give my students real experiences in lessons by building equipment or buying it second-hand.

For students at school I aim to support their existing teaching with extra tasks and explanations and will assist them in completing tasks set by their teachers. I find that one hour is enough time to cover a topic but I don't leave a question unfinished. I refer to relevant websites and suitable animations. I usually tutor students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 but have also tutored resit A level students.
