About Bashir
I am a retired full professor of linguistics with over 35 years of university teaching experience. I hold a PhD in Linguistics from University College London and a Master’s Degree in Language and Linguistics from the University of Essex. Throughout my career at Tripoli University, I have taught Arabic Linguistics, Phonology, and Comparative Linguistics, and have also trained students and professionals in leadership and management as a certified trainer.
My teaching approach is grounded in both academic excellence and practical communication skills. I take pride in helping students—from beginners to advanced learners—gain confidence in Arabic through a structured, interactive, and supportive learning environment. My experience enables me to adapt lessons to each learner’s goals, ensuring measurable progress and lasting understanding.

My lessons are conducted online using advanced digital tools such as interactive whiteboards, online quizzes, and shared resources to make learning engaging and effective. Students are encouraged to keep their cameras on to maintain interaction and ensure clear communication throughout the session. Each lesson typically lasts around 60 minutes, though extended sessions can be arranged for higher-level students.
With over 35 years of teaching experience and a PhD in Linguistics from University College London, I combine traditional academic rigor with modern teaching methods. My lessons focus on developing strong linguistic understanding, correct pronunciation, and confident communication in Arabic.
Drawing on my long experience as a university professor, I am deeply familiar with exam-style questions, marking criteria, and past papers. During lessons, students practise answering questions in a structured and professional way, improving both accuracy and expression to achieve the highest possible marks.
Lessons are designed for non-native speakers and for students preparing for Arabic O-level and A-level exams. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, I will guide you with patience, clear explanations, and proven strategies to help you reach fluency and academic excellence.

Perfect! Dr. Bashir is an excellent tutor that uses the slotted time to give the student as much information as possible. His approach to teaching is favorable in my eyes because he gives you the building blocks of the language and explains said blocks well; it is up to you as the student to then take those blocks and, subject to the time you spend practicing, build something from them.
