I believe, which is core to Special Education, that each and every student is an individual. That said, learning should be geared to the needs and abilities within the "student:teacher" interaction. Without interfering with a classroom teacher's professional autonomy, I also have served as a learning advocate when a student is experiencing difficulties within standardized format classrooms.
