  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

Honestly, I have been using a computer for as long as I can remember. Maybe the first few times were for school projects and as I got older it became an even more important part of my career. I first started learning AutoCAD and later on Revit, when I was in high school and I immediately fell in love with it, since I have always wanted to find the right tools to express my design ideas. After 10 years I am still learning and teaching these design tools with the same enthusiasm.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

For the architecture field, the introduction of 3D modelling software has been a game-changer. Communicating our design concepts to clients has never been easier. Architectural renders are incredibly close to reality and VR experiences are now available to anyone interested in architecture and willing to commit a few hours to learn. In my opinion, after the pandemic, architects and designers who can learn to use these technological resources to their benefit will surely advance the highest and fastest.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

Even though my expertise might seem like my knowledge of this software at first glance, I personally, believe that my true power is being able to translate this complicated software to my students in the clearest way possible. Each learner takes time to understand these concepts I am teaching them in their own time and own way. From my reviews, I have seen that my true power comes from being able to come up with customized experiences tailored to each individual.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

The true visionaries that genuinely inspire me are architects such as Peter Zumthor, Zaha Hadid, or Tadao Ando. The way they guide a spectator through a place, using light, shadow, natural materials, and changes of scale, color, and texture are what I am aiming for with my own designs. Whenever I feel stuck with a project, I tend to look for inspiration from these masters' timeless works, investigating the plans, sections, and elevations. Thus, my true role models are artists and designers instead of tech gurus.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During my bachelor thesis submission in Politecnico di Milano, I had to present to the jury panel of the university. I was very nervous and stumbling on some of my words. Right then, one of the most prominent Milanese architectural designers stopped to ask me a rather silly question that made everyone laugh. Then she added; "We are all human, we all started from where you are now. Just relax and enjoy this great achievement." From there on, I had no hesitation and had the full score with my thesis work.
Whenever I doubt myself I always go back to this beautiful moment and to this day, it still puts a huge smile on my face.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I have had the chance to teach people of various ages, nationalities, and experiences, some with learning disabilities. I have found that with a bit of faith and practice, there are no obstacles one cannot overcome. I have seen over and over again, my students becoming advanced users and making excellent 3D models of any given project. I have taught people over the age of 60 who decided to change their careers and move to design. We started from scratch with no pre-training and now I am receiving their phone calls, thanking me for being able to graduate. I have seen that anything is possible and I live by this principle myself.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I am a travel photographer, I like to travel all around the world (one of the reasons I am an online tutor, I can work anywhere I go) and I want to capture these precious moments for myself. Also, I have been playing the violin for more than 15 years, it is truly my passion. I am also a licensed tennis player if you want to have a match text me! But most importantly, I am a golden retriever owner, maybe during our lessons, you can also see him at the back of my screen or we can show off our tricks to you!
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

I believe my strengths are years of experience. I have been tutoring for so long and I have the skill to translate even the hardest concepts to any audience. I am patient, I am a good listener and a problem solver. Even if I don't know the answer to a question I would research it and come up with a solution until the next class. I love to learn from my students, I always say that we are teaching one another in so many ways.
This platform has allowed me to get to know so many great people from all around the world. It has opened up amazing opportunities for me and I am planning on tutoring for years to come, as it became a passion for me. I think I have so much to offer with my multidisciplinary background and international experience.

Thanks for the interview, to get to know me better just book a free class and let's talk one-on-one. Have a lovely day!
