  • 1. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

My journey with the Rubik's Cube began quite unexpectedly in class 9, when a few friends casually introduced it to me during school. At first, it just felt like a cool challenge, but the moment I solved it for the first time, I was hooked. I got deeply curious about how it worked-its patterns, logic, and mechanics. Soon, I was not just solving it but exploring different types of cubes and faster methods. I started uploading tutorials on YouTube. Seeing people actually learn from those videos and appreciate my content gave me a whole new purpose. Over time, my interest grew from solving cubes to sharing this joy with others and helping them understand the beauty of this seemingly simple puzzle.
  • 2. What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Teaching started naturally when I noticed that many people were struggling to learn just by watching videos online. During the lockdown, I began offering one-on-one online sessions. That's when I realized how powerful personalized teaching could be. When I saw students get stuck, and then finally understand a concept because of something I explained-that moment of realization, the happiness on their faces when they solved the cube for the first time-that became my biggest motivation. It made me realize that I'm not just teaching a puzzle, I'm helping someone achieve something they thought was impossible. That joy is contagious, and it keeps me going.
  • 3. How does your work help society?

I believe my work is helping in two ways. First, I'm introducing children and adults to a new hobby that challenges their mind and improves focus, patience, and problem-solving skills. And second, I'm changing the way people see the Rubik's Cube. In many places, it's still seen as just a toy. But I show people that it's actually a sport-one that builds mental agility and has an entire competitive world behind it. I've conducted many free workshops in schools where I not only introduce the cube but also teach kids how to solve it and even encourage them to participate in competitions. Through this, I aim to create awareness and bring more people into the cubing community, especially in regions where it's not so popular yet.
  • 4. If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

When I first started learning, I spent hours watching YouTube videos made by cubers from around the world. They were my teachers before I became one myself. Their passion and dedication to teaching-even through a screen-inspired me. They showed me how powerful an online platform can be for spreading knowledge. I didn't know them personally, but the way they explained things and kept creating content purely to help others really motivated me. I always thought, "If they can impact so many people, maybe I can too." And that idea stayed with me.
  • 5. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Apart from cubing, I have a bunch of interests that keep me balanced and creative. I love skateboarding-it's a way for me to unwind and feel free. I also enjoy video editing, which came naturally since I started my own YouTube channel. Playing the ukulele is another favorite hobby of mine; there's something really calming about it. And of course, I love to travel. Exploring new places, meeting new people, and seeing different cultures really inspires me. All these hobbies add different layers to my personality and keep me energized for my teaching journey.
  • 6. Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of the most heartwarming moments I've had was during an online session with a young student who had been struggling to solve the cube for weeks. We had gone through multiple classes, and he was always so sincere but just couldn't get it right. One day, during class, he finally did it-he solved the entire cube without any hints. I still remember his face lighting up with the biggest smile. His parents were watching too, and they clapped for him. That moment reminded me exactly why I do this. It's not just about the cube-it's about giving people the confidence that they can do something they once thought was too hard. Those little wins feel like big victories for both the student and the teacher.
