About Adam
I am a third-year graduate student in the Slavic Department at Northwestern University. I specialize in Russian and Central Asian literature, but also have a broad background in world literature, critical theory, philosophy, and history. I hold a BA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, Santa Fe, NM (2007), an MLitt in Comparative Literature from University of Glasgow (2019, Award of Distinction), and an MA in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Northwestern. I am also currently working toward a third Master's degree in Russian Language at Middlebury College. In addition to my academic credentials, I have professional experience in journalism, arts management, and aftercare education. I look forward to meeting you!

My teaching philosophy begins with the basic truth that each student has specific learning needs, desires, and objectives.
I will help you craft an individualized course of study to get the most out of our sessions. Are you interested in gaining a greater appreciation of the literary craft? Would you like to acquire skills in plot or character analysis? Perhaps you would like to work together on your expository writing technique, develop your vocabulary, or expand your understanding of literary and critical theory.
