About Mckinzie
Hi, I’m Mckinzie, a biochemistry student at the University of California, San Diego. I have nearly two years of scientific research experience at UC San Diego, 1.5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and previous experience supporting middle school students in an after-school academic program.
I am patient, dependable, and committed to creating a welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I explain difficult topics clearly, adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, and focus on building both academic skills and confidence. My goal is to help every student feel supported, prepared, and capable of succeeding.

Hi, I’m Mckinzie! I tutor middle and high school students in biology, chemistry, math, general science, homework help, and study skills.
My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and personalized. I first identify what the student understands and where they are struggling. I then explain the material in smaller, manageable steps using examples, visuals, practice problems, and real-world connections.
A typical lesson begins with a review of the student’s current topic or assignment. We work through key concepts together, complete guided practice, and then allow the student to solve problems more independently. I also help students improve organization, study habits, and test preparation.
What sets me apart is my combination of academic, research, industry, and student-support experience. I am a UC San Diego biochemistry student with nearly two years of research experience, 1.5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, and previous experience supporting middle school students in an after-school program.
My lessons are designed for middle and high school students who need extra support, clearer explanations, homework assistance, or greater confidence in science and math.
