About James
An experienced and qualified primary school teacher, I have taught all year groups from Early Years to year 6 (during SATS) and covered the entire range of the UK curriculum. I have also engaged and taught at the secondary level and further education level within Drama, R.E and Science. I have worked for many years in professional acting (including theatre, tv, film and radio). This experience helps me to understand the importance of building confidence in learners.

I rely upon my previous work in professional theatre and performing arts tutoring, I understand that confidence and feeling safe is vital when encouraging learners. The children within my lessons are encouraged to share and contribute to the class discourse in an open and safe manner. They are encouraged and rewarded for their input and a happy, safe learning environment is created through fun, targeted lessons curated with the specific learners in mind. I am a confident and supportive character who creates classrooms that young people thrive within through my positive and engaging presence. I foster positive relationships which support my learners, allowing them the freedom and confidence to contribute within the class, this is backed up by my commitment to the highest standards of expectation for learners. All lessons are devised through adaptive resource development, I cater lessons specifically to each child depending on needs and strengths at all levels, including SEN. I have a keen interest in reading and use this to support deeper learning and discussions within my class. This supports in allowing young people the freedom to engage deeper within topics.
