About Stephen
I am a retired Science teacher with 40 years experience in the classroom. My focus in teaching science to students in years 11 and 12 was Physics and chemistry. I have completed 20 years of classroom-based research and have been part of several university and national trials of state of the art resources for teaching science which culminated in achieving my PhD in science education in 2011. I was head of science in 5 different schools (1999-2014) before leaving to work at the University of Technology Sydney in Science teacher education - focussing on effective methods for teaching science. I have provided study and exam preparation advice for thousands of students over more than a decade in regional centres across NSW. I have a passion for learning and helping students succeed in their studies.

I base my class on meaningful learning using relevant examples and analogies to facilitate a high level of understanding. Access to appropriate free online applications provides excellent simulated practical experience.
