About Harry
I am passionate about helping young people of all abilities to reach their full potential. As a Year Head, I am driven by a desire to help young people to not only achieve the very best GCSE results, but also to help them to develop essential learning behaviours and attributes that guarantee success in higher education settings and in the working world. Given the national lockdowns that we have all been subjected to and the extended periods of school closure across the country, I believe that there will be deficits in both of these areas for the large majority of our young people over the coming years. I would like to make sure that this does not happen and give as many people I can, the best foundation possible.
I have 7 years of experience as a Science Teacher and 4 years of experience as a Year Head. I currently teach children of all ages and abilities within the 11-16 cohort. I can cater tuition to any age within this category and can tailor the content delivered to meet the requirements of Foundation, Higher Tier and Triple Science exams.

I currently tutor a number of students online. I replicate the classroom environment online by incorporating the same techniques online as I do live in lessons with the students that I teach at school. These techniques include dual coding, massed practice, spacing and interleaving.
A typical lesson would last an hour and can be tailored to any particular area of focus and will usually follow the following format:
- Taught content using a range of evidence based teaching practices.
- Learning checks to ensure understanding.
- Exam questions to test what has been taught and to apply what has been taught to new and novel situations.
- Homework assignments in preparation for the next lesson.
