About Peter
I have worked as a private tutor for over 3 years since graduating from University. I have had over two dozen students both as recurring customers or on short term basis around exam seasons.
Most recently, in the 2018/19 academic year, I had two long term students, both of whom improved their marks under my tuition. One by two full grades and exceeding their target grade and the other by one full grade and meeting their target.
Having students who have responded well to my tuition has prompted me to start a PGCE, the UK's teacher training programme, to begin my career as a teacher in earnest. In addition to private tuition, I have over 120 hours of practical and observational classroom experience, which was taken as part of my final year of university, in the science department of a secondary school.

A typical lesson will consist of:
- A recap of the previous session for returning students.
- Setting up the goals of the lesson.
- Discussing the background material of the topic, particularly any key science.
- Exercises on the topic at hand, including exam question practice.
- Reviewing the goals of the lesson.
Students will have every opportunity to ask questions at all stages of the lesson.
I put a lot of value in preparing for exam questions, especially high scoring questions and breaking down what needs to be included in an answer to achieve the highest marks. Lessons with recurring students will be tailored to the individual and can include advice on the most productive areas to focus their revision.

Group lessons will incur additional costs of:
