About Matt
I am an online educator with a passion for tutoring students in a one-on-one learning environment. I believe strongly that additional academic support is critical in giving students the opportunities to succeed not only in school, but in their eventual careers as well. I have over eight years of classroom teaching experience with the ability to instruct students from the elementary to high school level in multiple subject areas (U.S./World History, U.S. Government/Economics, English Language Arts, Algebra, and French). I also have experience with test preparation (EOC/SAT) writing development and proofreading essays. I have also received my South Carolina Professional teaching license.

My aim as a tutor is two-fold. First, I want to support students with their current assignments (homework, test/quiz prep). During our sessions, I will help students stay organized and implement review material from past lessons that we covered. Just as important to supporting students with their coursework is to help them build long-term study skills that they will be able to use down the road. I want to ensure that your student gains confidence in their ability to learn. I focus on making each tutoring session productive, but I also want to make sure that your student is comfortable while making the topics we are going over interesting and relevant. I look forward to an opportunity to tutor you or your child in either an online or face to face setting.

Details
I am available for one and multi-hour sessions and can travel up to 25 miles to meet at student's home or at a designated location. I please ask that any cancellations be made at least one hour before scheduled session.
