About Stephen
I have tutored dozens of students, graduated nearly 20 PhDs, over 50 Master's students and advised dozens of senior design project teams. With $10M of external research funding since 1996 I not only know how to formulate and unpack complicated physical issues, but translate them to patented technology with over 25 patents and several more pending. Author of over 250 scientific articles in archival journals and 4 books, my ability to make complex concepts understandable is my superpower. Let me help you not only understand complex physics concepts but learn to enjoy the process so much you will want to become an engineer or scientist!

I believe in experiential learning and utilize modern methods based on YouTube videos and graphics to illustrate complex and demanding concepts. Lessons are tailored for the student's needs with the focus on foundation building and understanding rather than short-term sound bites and 'study for the test' methods often employed in academia and public schools.

I got to know Stephen (Dr. Saddow) many years ago when I was his student then his Teaching Assistant during my electrical engineering grad studies at USF. One course I had with him went over electromagnetism and its implications on electricity (basically the bridge between physics\electromagnetism and electricity and its electromagnetic properties): Stephen was able to convey the the ideas of that course effectively to me.
As teaching assistant I remember it was “electronic materials” course which also a link between atomic physics and electricity. I sat in all his classes and I was to reach an understanding not just of the materials but also to be able to do my work as teaching assistant including helping under-grad students taking this class.
I am very confident of Stephen’s abilities as an educator of Physics.I've had Stephen as a professor for multiple courses in my bachelors of electrical engineering degree. I enjoyed all of his classes since his teaching style was a great match for me. Stephen believes you learn the most by doing, and focused most learning tasks on projects or tools that you would use in the real world. He was able to cut through the fluff of the material and I left his classes feeling like I learned something that was worth remembering. When it came time to interview for jobs, I found myself recalling the work I did for his class repeatedly, and I believe it helped me land my first engineering job quickly.
I have met Prof Saddow thru my professional network while working as Director of Strategic Marketing at Plasma-Therm LLC in Florida.
From the first day we met and many years later, I can't recommend more anyone to work with, learn from or simply discuss on any subject with Stephen.
His multi-cultural, open minded and enthusiastic way of life makes him someone unique.
The company I manage in France now is somehow connected with his field of study (SiC) and all the students and professors I interact with here in France know and appreciate him even if they don't have direct relation. That gives an idea of how much Stephen can make a positive impact on anyone who come across anything he touches
Based on my experience as a Ph.D. student of Dr. Stephen Saddow during my time at the University of South Florida, I highly recommend him. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in his field and is always willing to go above and beyond to support his students. Dr. Saddow is an excellent communicator and has a natural ability to explain complex concepts in an easily understandable way. I am grateful for the time, guidance, and relentlessly support he provided me during my studies and believe he would be a valuable asset to anyone seeking his expertise.
Steve is accessible, relatable, pragmatic, and and professional during his lectures. Approachable within and outside classrooms. His research in implantable biomaterial devices is innovative and leading-edge technology.Steve was my PhD mentor and life long professional guru. Anytime I face a challenge or question, just reach out to him and get the best advice. I learned everything about modern physics, semiconductors, and IC design from him. Now that I am a professor myself, I literally use what I learned from him. He is a great teacher and a great human being.
I took his bioelectronics course last semester at USF. The way he taught was outstanding. He never focused on memorizing stuff. Rather, he implied real-world applications of the course by integrating projects into it. His class lectures are also interesting. I hope he will nurture more bright minds in the near future.
Dr. Saddow is an amazing person inside and out. I worked with him while in the EE department at MS State and am honored to to have met him. He's a kind, gentle person with lots of patience and a genuine passion for academia and research. You can't go wrong with choosing him as your teacher!
Stephen, is very talented at the art of teaching. He is my mentor and not only does he share his knowledge but also he imparts wisdom with every interaction, creating thus, the perfect atmosphere for learning and actually taking advantage of the vast amount of knowledge he has. Stephen has a great ability to prioritize people and their interest in a very humane way, by understanding both their assets and limitations and helping you grow; in turn, this has provided him with the capability to bring the best of people to solve problems and create a sense of community and purpose.
