About Heidi
I am a History Teacher and Deputy Housemistress at a boarding school in Hertfordshire. I have been teaching since 2020 and have taught in both state and private schools. At the moment, I currenty teach CIE GCSE and OCR A Level, however have also taught AQA A Level and GCSE.
I graduated from the University of Nottingham, achieving a 2:1 in History and East European Cultural Studies in 2019. My dissertation focused on Croatian Serbian Film, whilst my module choices included: US Civil Rights, 1970s America, Origins of the FIrst World War and East European History 1945-1990. At University, I was in the History Society as well as a firm member of the University's Radio Station.
Post Nottingham Univeristy, I went straight to the University of Hertfordshire to complete my Postgraduate Degree of Secondary Education and History. Since 2020, I have been proactive in school settings as both a subject teacher as well as a form tutor.

Specialising in Modern History including both World Wars, the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement and the Cold War.
My lessons will include activities for pupils that will allow them to remember content easily, whilst also practising exam style questions and top techniques to help achieve high grades.
Each lesson will start with an introductory task that will re-cap what was covered in previous lessons, followed by source work or activities that will allow pupils to learn new content. By looking at sources, this will also act as exam practice.
Each lesson will be engaging thereby encouraging discussions whilst consolidating previous taught topics.
I am also open to marking exam style answers in order to provide thorough feedback.
