When I tutor, I usually start my first session off getting a basic understanding of where my student currently is with their math work. We will go through any class work examples, report-cards, or even suggestions from their classroom teacher. From there, we will work to set up goals we would like to achieve in the long term for our sessions, and also our short term. Each tutoring session will help me plan appropriately for the next one in order to make sure we are meeting the students needs.
